Treatment Options for Female Pattern Hair Loss
The hair loss in female pattern baldness is from sensitivity to DHT which is one of the byproducts of Testosterone. For our female thinning hair patients, we strongly recommend getting their hormone levels checked and optimizing Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone preferably with BHRT (Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy) for meaningful and longer lasting results. We provide hormone testing and optimization for the purpose of helping hair loss.
How Does PRP hair Loss Therapy Work?
PRP(Platelet Rich Plasma) is a concentrated solution of your platelets, the blood cell responsible for your body’s healing ability. We use the Harvest PRP system to obtain 4x-6x the platelet concentration of your whole blood. Harvest PRP system is the #1 used PRP system in US hospitals for major Orthopedic and other surgical procedures.
Platelets are small cell fragments in our blood that play an imperative role in clot formation for sealing up wounds to stop us from bleeding. Growth factors derived from platelets are responsible for soft tissue repair, bone regeneration, development of new blood vessels and stimulation of the wound healing process.13,17,18 The concentrated platelets in PRP may help optimize the conditions for healing.11,14PRP alone works through the release of eight key growth factors which initiate the process of new tissue regeneration, new blood vessels, new hair follicles and improve hair density and quality via:stimulation of the dormant hair follicles, converting resting hair follicles into active growth phase, reducing DHT-mediated inflammation in the hair follicles and improving the nutrition to the hair follicles.
How Does ACell Help PRP Hair Loss Therapy?
ACell’s MicroMatrix® is a medical device that maintains and supports a healing environment through constructive remodelling. In clinical studies, the MicroMatrix® has been shown to increase the migration of your body’s healthy blank cells or your stem cells into the area of treatment to facilitate wound healing.
For PRP hair loss therapy ACell’s MicroMatrix® this means a higher number of new hair follicles regenerated through increased migration of your body’s healing cells. ACell and PRP hair loss therapy is particularly useful for those individuals with more advanced hair loss and hair loss duration longer than 5 years.
When PRP Hair Loss Treatment for Female Pattern Baldness Will NOT Work?
For total hair loss with a complete absence of hair follicles, excessive thinning and scarring of the scalp, PRP is not the right treatment. These individuals should consider hair transplant which is now done with PRP for better results. We recommend seeking medical advice for hair loss treatments before you lose all the scalp hairs. Early treatment leads to the best results
