Add PRP to Your Micropen Treatment For Correction of Under-eye Hollows and Nasolabial Folds
For treatment of under-eye hollows and nasolabial folds in Dallas and Southlake, our patients have experienced the most significant and natural looking results with the addition of PRP sub-dermal injections to their Micropen treatments. For most individuals in their 30′ s and early 40’s, skin texture, fine lines and pigment irregularities are the most common concerns of skin aging. For this group of people where skin laxity is not a major problem, we have found that a series of Micropen + PRP topical + PRP subdermal injections for areas of volume loss to be the most effective treatment. PLUS there is minimal discomfort and little if any downtime with this treatment.
The number ONE area of volume loss for people in their 30’s and early 40’s is the area around the eyes (periorbital area), followed by the area around the mouth (perioral area). There are several treatments available for the periorbital area and the perioral area; the fractional CO2 laser, dermal fillers, thermage all have been used to improve skin tightness, thickness and sagging for these areas. In our practice we used the fractional CO2 laser for the periorbital and perioral areas for many years with and without cosmetic dermal fillers . We have treated a large number of patients for periorbital aging with the Smartxide fractional CO2 laser in Dallas and Southlake, following the Madonnalift protocol and had moderately good patient results from the Madonnalift treatment in Dallas and Southlake in majority of these patients.
Cosmetic medicine is a rapidly evolving field with newer treatment modalities and newer treatment protocols each year. We take pride in being at the forefront of cosmetic and antiaging medicine and strive to bring cutting edge, safe and effective treatments to our Dallas and Southlake cosmetic skincare patients. We introduced Micropen and PRP treatments in Dallas and Southlake in January 2015 and have treated a number of patients since then. We have found that a combination of Micropen + PRP topical + PRP sub-dermal injections for relatively younger individuals with reasonably good skin elasticity works better than the Madonna lift . Better results are not the only advantage of Micropen + PRP treatment. Our patients have less discomfort and less downtime with the Micropen + PRP treatment for under-eye hollows than the Smartxide CO2 fractional laser treatment.
How does the Micropen + PRP treatment work for under-eye hollows and nasolabial folds?
Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) with Micropen: Micropen improves skin surface texture, fine lines, pigment irregularities through a process called Collagen Induction Therapy-CIT. The Micropen treatment alone improves skin texture, fine lines and pigment irregularity of skin surface in the weeks following a single treatment due to induction of your own collagen synthesis from the microwounds created by the Micropen. We use the Harvest Micropen which has a specialized tip fitted with 12 surgical steel microneedles that vibrate at 6000-8000 rpms. This means very efficient mechanical skin resurfacing with very little visible damage to your skin and little if any discomfort; without laser or thermal injury.
Your PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) enhances the results of any treatment that depends on your body’s ability to heal itself by providing eight growth factors and promoting migration of YOUR adult stem cells to the area of treatment. The gowth factors and your stem cells ensure superior collagen and elastin production which translates into better results.
Topical PRP: We use your PRP with your Micropen treatment to drive this healing plasma deeper into your skin via the micro-channels created with the Micropen
Sub-dermal PRP Injections: We inject your PRP below the dermis, much like the cosmetic dermal fillers for more natural looking results for areas of thinning skin, deeper wrinkles and loss of sub-dermal volume; such as areas around the eyes, around the mouth and jaw line. When injected below the dermis, your PRP leads to collagen/elastin synthesis in all three dimensions of your skin: below the dermis, within the dermis and in the surface of the dermis for even, natural looking results that are almost impossible to achieve with the dermal fillers.
How long does a Micropen + PRP treatment take?
Each full face Micropen + PRP topical + PRP injection treatment takes about an hour, which includes a small amount of blood draw from your vein just like your anual lab tests and preperation of your PRP in our Dallas and Southlake offices. We apply a topical numbing creme to your entire face while waiting for your PRP to be ready. There is minimum discomfort during the Micropen treatment and minimal downtime. Results from your Micropen + PRP treatment continue to improve for 4-6 months following a single treatment.
For most patients we recommend a series of treatments for best results. The results are cumulative which means you will notice an improvement with each individual treatment.
The patient below had three treatments with Micropen + PRP + PRP sub-dermal injections. Individual results vary.
